Santikos Casa Blanca Theatre

Santikos Casa Blanca Theatre

Last week, I had the pleasure of previewing an awesome, NEW entertainment venue that is opening on San Antonio’s far west side…

Santikos Casa Blanca Theatre!!

This post was sponsored by Santikos Entertainment. All opinions are my own.

The whole experience was great and I have so many wonderful things to tell you about Casa Blanca, like what a great entertainment venue and a tremendous asset to the community! But before we get into that, I’m excited to tell you that I will be giving away 4 FREE TICKETS (to one lucky reader) to go experience it for yourself with your friends and/or family! More details on that below, but first let me fill you in on what Casa Blanca is all about…

The Experience

Now I will preface this by saying that I am in no way a theatre/entertainment venue enthusiast. I’ll catch a movie at the theatre maybe about once a year (if that), and I bowl even less. So my initial motivation in going to check out this new theatre (besides the invitation I received) was the fact that ICasa Blanca Recliner could sneak away from the house and kids for a few hours- alone.

However, after experiencing the theatre, hearing the history, and learning about all the wonderful ways Santikos gives back to the local community, I was glad to be there and excited to get this information out to all of you.

Santikos Casa Blanca Movie ScreenSo where do I even start? Well, here are the basics- there’s a grand lobby, self-service ticket counters, a full-service sports bar, 16-lane bowling alley, arcade area, and café (that proudly serves Starbucks, btw!).

This theatre is home to two of the biggest movie screens in Texas and it is the first 100% laser projection multiplex movie theatre in the world. Six of their auditoriums have leather recliners and the others have comfy, over-sized seating. They offer food and drink service at your seats in four of the auditoriums (so no more missing a scene!) and their decently priced menu had some great choices on it!

Again, not a theatre enthusiast, but I’m pretty sure I’d love to watch a movie on those giant screens while being served a yummy dinner and being waited on in a comfy recliner. Ok?

An Organization that Gives Back…

Yes, it is definitely an awesome place in terms of entertainment… but more importantly, Casa Blanca is part of a bigger picture for our community. Casa Blanca and all Santikos Theatres are part of a charitable legacy left behind by the late John L. Santikos.

They are organized under the San Antonio Area Foundation and they operate as a social enterprise. In other words, the money that is made at the theatre is GIVEN BACK to the community via donations. So regardless if you are an entertainment enthusiast or not, spending your hard-earned money at a place that gives it back to the community- YOUR community- is a wonderful thing!Casa Blanca Bowling Alley

Donations are made to various charities throughout the city, to include: people in need (such as senior citizens, people with special needs, victims of child abuse and disaster relief), youth and education, public libraries, parks, museums, arts and culture, medicine, healthcare, and medical research.

In 2016, $12 million will be donated back to the community and this number is expected to increase to $20 million per year over the next 10 years. This is truly a blessing for San Antonio!!

Santikos’ generosity towards the community has left an impression on me. We all need to help each other in this life and I’m glad that Mr. Santikos made sure that his community would continue to benefit from his hard work long after he passed away. He was a true San Antonian.

I’m happy to support our community (especially at such an awesome venue) and plan on spending more time at Casa Blanca in the future. Even though I don’t do movies or bowling often… there’s always wine at the bar…
