Wine of the Week!

Wine of the Week!

The glasses have been full (and quickly emptied) here at Wine and Lavender over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been working on a very special project that I’m so excited to announce! The idea for this project came about as I was re-evaluating Wine and Lavender’s purpose.

My goal for Wine and Lavender is to provide my readers with relevant and appealing topics, and remain unique in the sea of blogs out there. While I love all the topics that are covered on this blog- Parenting, Frugal Living, Experiences, and a little dab of Health here and there, I noticed that an important part of Wine and Lavender was missing. It’s the part that keeps Wine and Lavender running… through stressful situations, nights, days, weeks- whatever the issue: Wine. I love my wine. LOL

And thus was born Wine and Lavender’s newest segment… (Drumroll, please)…

Wine of the Week!!

So much has gone into this idea that I’ve been harboring over the last few months and I think it’s about time that I release it to all of you!

Wine of the Week: What is it?

Join me as I explore various low-cost, easily accessible, and tasty wines! Each week, a new bottle of wine will be tested on accessibility, price, sight, smell, taste, and of course, how you feel the next day. Each bottle that is assessed will be given a score based on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being the kind of bottle I will never buy again) which will appear in the form of wine glasses (because they are cuter than stars).

While I am mostly a red wine drinker, I promise you that we will get adventurous now and then and explore other colors of the wine rainbow. I am always up for a challenge, so if you have a wine you’ve been wondering about… let me know!

Wine of the Week

“I’m just a Mom who really, really likes wine that wants to explore all my wonderful options. So if you’re a Mom who really likes wine, too…”

My Experience

I am no wine connoisseur (obviously) so I’m sorry if I won’t be able to provide you with all the fancy, wine tasting words like bouquet and such. I’m just a Mom who really, really likes wine that wants to explore all my wonderful options. So if you’re a Mom who really likes wine, too- and values the opinions of other non-professional wine-lovers, I invite you to join me on this exploration of the cheapest and yummiest wines. Everyone’s palates are different, so I’d love to hear your feedback!

When?

I am so excited to get this new weekly segment rolling! I think you’ll really enjoy it (I know I will!). I’ll be rolling out the Wine of the Week segment every Thursday (with YOUR weekend in mind). Read on Thursday, buy on Friday, and let the weekend begin!

The segment starts next Thursday, 10/27/16. Hope to see you all there!!

UPDATE: With my audience in mind, I’ve changed the Wine of the Week segment to run on Fridays every other week. Now that there are quite a few reviews from you all to choose from, I didn’t want to overwhelm you with too much wine! (If that’s even possible). If you want to see Wine of the Week go back on a weekly schedule, let me know and I will re-evaluate!

In the meantime, here are a few of the Best of the Wine of the Week wines that I’ve reviewed:

Kissing Tree Vineyards White Merlot

Helotes Creek Winery Malbec

Trader Joe’s Shiraz

Ravage Knight Fall Dark Red Blend

Confidencial Reserva Tinto

Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon

Jason Stephens Estate Merlot

Stressed Mommy Chardonnay

Two Vines Cabernet Sauvignon

Red Rock Merlot
